CorelDRAW Basics for Newbies

CorelDRAW is a vector graphics editor program developed by Corel, a software company headquartered in Ottawa, Canada.

Prior to work using a tool or a program, of course, we must know the parts, tools and how to use the program.

Here I use CorelDRAW X4 to recognize CorelDRAW Basics for Beginners.

A.      Initial View CorelDRAW X4

To start a worksheet, then select New Blank Document

B. The new Document Display

Information :

·         Title bar, area that shows the file name of the current CorelDRAW.

·         Menu bar, area under the title bar that contains a set of commands that appear when you click the texts contained.

·         Toolbar, set the direct command (shortcut) to the menu bar and other commands.

·         Property bar, set the properties, options and commands that appear in accordance with a tool or object that is active at that time. for example, if a text tool is active at the time, meaning the instructions that appear on the property associated with the text tool.

·         Toolbox, set of tools used to create, edit and modify objects created.

·         Rulers, hoisontal and vertical lines that surround the drawing window that serves to determine the size and position of a motorcycle.

·         Drawing page, a rectangular area amid drawing window. This area is an area that appears at the same time when print results of our work later.

·         Docker, a window that contains the commands associated with the tools / specific desired commands.

·         Color palette, right next to the area that contains a collection box according to the desired color.

·         Drawing window, Area outside the drawing page bordered by the scroll bar right hand and under.

·         Document navigator, dikiri Area under control or add pages (page).

·         Status Bar at the bottom area of ​​the main window containing information CorelDRAW object selected and its properties, such as text, size, color, resolution and others.

·         Navigator, the bottom right corner of the button that displays a small window to help us determine the position when drawing.

C. Tool-Tool CorelDRAW X4

·         Standard Toolbar

Standard toolbar is located below the menu bar. The tool bar contains a number of buttons that are quick commands to some frequently used menu.

·         Toolbox

Toolbox is located on the left leyer contains a number of tools used in the manufacturing process images in CorelDraw. If a tool there is a small arrow, called a flyout.

Here's a list Tool contained in CorelDRAW X4.

1. Pick Tool

This Pick Tool has an icon as the mouse cursor to the default setting. Serves to select or choose an object.

2. Shape Tool

Shape tool function edit a line or object with the manipulation point. Having the keyboard shortcut F10. Shape tool itself is divided into three types again, namely:

• Smudge Brush: To change the object image by dragging the borders.

• Roughen Brush: To distort objects to draw the outline of the image.

• Free Transform: To change freely as: using rotation, resize, tilt the object, etc.

3. Crop Tool

Crop tool is used to remove unwanted parts in the object. Crop tool also has 3 types anymore:

• Knife: for cutting objects into two separate sections.

• Eraser: to remove unwanted areas in objects.

• Virtual Segment Delete: to remove a portion of the objects that are in the intersection.

4. Zoom Tool

Zoom tool is used to change the rate / level magnification window corel document that we are open. This is very useful for editing objects that are too small or too large objects, so the look of the object in accordance with our eyes.

• Hand Tool serves to shift the display area / object without changing the level of zoom level.

5. Freehand Tool

Freehand Tool serves to draw the curve (a curve) and straight lines in the segment. F5 has a shortcut button on your keyboard. Freehand tool is divided into 7 types again, namely:

·         2-Point Line Tool: to draw a straight line from one point (starting point) to the other point (the end point).

·         Bezier Tool: draw a curved line in the segment at a time.

·         Artistic Media Tool: add effects brush, spray and using a calligraphy pen cursor freely. Many effects you might like in this one tool.

·         Pen tool: draw a curved line segments and viewing / reviewing each of the segments that you have created.

·         B-spline tool: draw a curve by setting control point (point) without damaging the segment.

·         Polyline tool: draw a straight line connection or a continuously curved line (continuous) in one action.

·         3-point curves tool: draw a curve by dragging from the start point, end point and positioned at the midpoint.

6. Smart Fill Tool

Smart Fill Tool is used to create objects of the overlapping area numb to fill in with color or texture. This tool has one more kind of a drawing tool that is smart.

·         Smart Drawing tool: to change / convert scribbles pointer that you draw objects into configurations (basic shapes) or smooth curved lines.

7. Rectangel Tool

Rectangle tool used to draw rectangles or squares with just drag and click your mouse. Have one kind of another, namely 3-point rectangle tool.

• 3-Point Rectangle tool: work to form a square and draw up a box with its per point.

8. Elipse Tool

Ellipse tool used to draw ellipses and circles with just drag and click your mouse. Also had one kind of another, namely 3-point ellipse tool.

• 3-Point Ellipse tool: for drawing ellipses and circles to draw up its per point.

9. Polygon Tool

Polygon tool used to draw a square shape much, just drag and click the mouse. Polygon tool has four types, namely:

• Star tool: for drawing various shapes of stars.

• Complex Star tool: to draw a star shape that has a lot of side pieces.

• Graph Paper tool: to draw the shape grating / checkerboard arrangement as nets.

• Spiral tool: to draw a circle symmetrically or logarithmic spiral.

10. Basic Shapes Tool

Basic Shapes tool serves to facilitate / accelerate the process of drawing shapes of triangles, circles, cylinders, love / heart, and many other forms. Having four types, namely:

• Arrow shapes tool: to draw shapes in a variety of arrows.

• Flowchart shapes tool: to make it easier to draw a chart (chart)

• Banner shapes tool: to draw a ribbon shape or form of explosion.

• Callout shapes tool: to draw a speech bubble shape (illustrated talk) and label

11. Text Tool

Text tool serves to create a text object.

Table tool serves to create the object table.

·         Property bar

Property bar is below the Standard toolbar, which is used to display a number of commands and options associated with the tools that are currently active or in use.

Dasar-dasar CorelDRAW untuk Pemula

CorelDRAW merupakan sebuah program editor grafik vektor yang dikembangkan oleh Corel, sebuah perusahaan perangkat lunak yang bermarkas di Ottawa, Kanada.

Sebelum kita bekerja menggunakan alat atau suatu program, tentunya kita harus mengetahui bagian-bagian, alat dan cara menggunakan program tersebut.

Di sini saya menggunakan CorelDRAW X4 untuk mengenal Dasar-dasar CorelDRAW untuk Pemula.

A.     Tampilan Awal CorelDRAW X4

Untuk memulai lembar kerja, maka pilih New blank document

B.      Tampilan Document baru

Keterangan :

·         Title bar, Area yang menampilkan nama file CorelDRAW yang sedang aktif.

·         Menu bar, Area yang berada dibawah title bar yang berisi kumpulan perintah-perintah yang muncul ketika kita mengklik teks-teks yang ada didalamnya.

·         Toolbar, Kumpulan perintah langsung (shortcut) untuk menu bar dan perintah lain.

·         Property bar, Kumpulan property, opsi dan perintah yang muncul sesuai dengan tool atau objek yang sedang aktif saat itu. contohnya jika sebuah teks tool aktif pada saat itu, berarti perintah yang muncul pada property tool berhubungan dengan teks.

·         Toolbox, Kumpulan tool yang digunakan untuk membuat, mengedit dan memodifikasi objek yang dibuat.

·         Rulers, Garis hoisontal dan vertikal yang mengelilingi drawing window yang berfungsi menentukan ukuran dan posisi suatu ojek.

·         Drawing page, Area segi empat ditengah drawing window. area ini sekaligus merupakan area yang muncul ketika mencetak hasil karya kita nanti.

·         Docker, sebuah jendela yang berisikan perintah-perintah yang berhubungan dengan tool/perintah tertentu yang diinginkan.

·         Color pallete, Area disebelah kanan yang berisikan kumpulan kotak warna sesuai yang diinginkan.

·         Drawing window, Area diluar drawing page yang dibatasi oleh scroll bar dikanan dan dibawah.

·         Document navigator, Area dikiri bawah untuk mengontrol atau menambah halaman (page).

·         Status bar, Area paling bawah jendela utama CorelDRAW yang berisi informasi objek yang terseleksi serta property yang dimilikinya, seperti teks, ukuran, warna, resolusi dan lain-lain.

·         Navigator, Tombol disudut kanan bawah yang menampilkan jendela kecil untuk membantu kita menentukan posisi ketika menggambar.

C.      Tool-Tool CorelDRAW X4

·         Standard Toolbar

Standard toolbar berada dibawah menu bar. Tool bar ini berisi sejumlah tombol yang merupakan perintah cepat untuk beberapa menu sering digunakan.

·         Toolbox

Toolbox yang berada disebelah kiri leyer berisi sejumlah tool yang digunakan dalam proses pembuatan gambar dalam CorelDraw. Apabila dalam sebuah tool terdapat tanda panah kecil, disebut flyout.

Berikut daftar Tool yang terdapat dalam CorelDRAW X4.

1. Pick Tool

Pick tool ini memiliki ikon seperti cursor mouse pada setting defaultnya. Berfungsi untuk menyeleksi atau memilih objek.

2.      Shape Tool

Shape tool berfungsi mengedit garis atau objek dengan manipulasi titik. Memiliki shortcut dalam keyboard F10. Shape tool ini sendiri dibagi menjadi 3 jenis lagi yaitu :

·    Smudge Brush   : Untuk mengubah objek gambar dengan menarik garis tepi.

·    Roughen Brush  : Untuk mendistorsi objek gambar dengan menarik garis tepi.

·    Free Transform : Untuk mengubah bebas seperti : menggunakan rotasi, mengubah ukuran, memiringkan objek, dll.

3.      Crop Tool

Crop tool berfungsi untuk menghilangkan bagian yang tidak diinginkan dalam objek. Crop tool juga memiliki 3 jenis lagi :

·    Knife : untuk memotong objek menjadi dua bagian terpisah.

·    Eraser : untuk menghapus area yang tidak diinginkan dalam objek.

·  Virtual Segment Delete : untuk menghapus suatu bagian objek yang berada dalam persinggungan.

4.      Zoom Tool

Zoom tool berfungsi untuk mengubah tingkat / level pembesaran jendela dokumen corel yang sedang kita buka. Ini sangat bermanfaat untuk mengedit objek yang terlalu kecil atau objek yang terlalu besar, sehingga tampilan objek sesuai dengan mata kita.

·    Hand Tool berfungsi untuk menggeser tampilan area/objek tanpa mengubah tingkat zoom level.

5.      Freehand Tool

Freehand Tool berfungsi menggambar kurva (garis lengkung) dan garis lurus dalam segmen. Memiliki tombol shortcut F5 di keyboard anda. Freehand tool ini dibagi dalam 7 jenis lagi yaitu :

·       2-Point Line Tool : untuk menggambar garis lurus dari satu titik (titik awal) ke satu   titik yang lain (titik akhir).

·      Bezier Tool : menggambar garis lengkung dalam segment dalam satu waktu.

·      Artistic Media Tool : menambahkan efek brush, spray dan kaligrafi dengan  menggunakan kursor pen dengan bebas. Banyak efek-efek yang mungkin anda sukai dalam tool yang satu ini.

·    Pen tool : menggambar garis lengkung dalam segmen dan melihat/meninjau masing-  masing segmen yang telah kamu buat.

·    B-spline tool : menggambar garis lengkung dengan mengkontrol setting titik (point) tanpa merusak segmen.

·     Polyline tool : menggambar sambungan garis lurus atau garis lengkung secara     continue (terus menerus) dalam satu action.

·    3-point curves tool : menggambar garis lengkung dengan cara mendrag dari titik       awal , titik akhir dan memposisikan pada titik tengah.

6.      Smart Fill Tool

Smart Fill Tool  berfungsi untuk membuat objek dari tumpang tindih area lali mengisikannya dengan warna atau tekstur. Tool ini memiliki satu jenis lagi yaitu smart drawing tool.

·    Smart Drawing tool : untuk mengubah / mengkonversi coretan pointer yang kamu gambar menjadi bentuk wujud objek (basic shapes) atau garis kurva yang halus.

7.      Rectangel Tool

Rectangle tool berfungsi untuk menggambar bentuk persegi empat atau kotak hanya dengan drag dan klik mouse kamu. Memiliki satu jenis lagi yaitu 3-point rectangle tool.

·  3 Point Rectangle tool : berfungsi untuk membentuk persegi empat dan kotak dengan menyusun nya per titik.

8.      Elipse Tool

Ellipse tool berfungsi untuk menggambar elips dan lingkaran hanya dengan drag dan klik mouse kamu. Juga memiliki satu jenis lagi yaitu 3-point ellipse tool.

·    3 Point Ellipse tool : untuk menggambar elips dan lingkaran dengan menyusun nya per titik.

9.      Polygon Tool

Polygon tool berfungsi untuk menggambar bentuk persegi banyak, hanya dengan drag dan klik mouse. Polygon tool memiliki 4 macam jenis, yaitu :

·      Star tool : untuk menggambar berbagai macam bentuk bintang.

·  Complex Star tool : untuk menggambar bentuk bintang yang memiliki banyak  potongan sisi.

·   Graph Paper tool : untuk menggambar bentuk kisi-kisi / susunan kotak-kotak        seperti jala-jala.

·    Spiral tool : untuk menggambar lingkaran spiral secara simetris atau logaritmis.

10.  Basic Shapes Tool

Basic Shapes tool berfungsi untuk mempermudah/mempercepat proses menggambar bentuk segitiga, lingkaran, silinder, love/hati, dan masih banyak lagi bentuk-bentuk lainnya. Memiliki 4 macam jenis, yaitu :

·    Arrow shapes tool : untuk menggambar bentuk tanda panah dalam berbagai variasi.

·    Flowchart shapes tool : untuk memudahkan menggambar suatu bagan (chart)

·    Banner shapes tool : untuk menggambar bentuk pita atau bentuk ledakan.

·  Callout shapes tool : untuk menggambar bentuk balon bicara (ilustrasi bicara) dan label

11.  Text Tool

Text tool berfungsi untuk membuat objek teks.

12.  Table Tool

Table tool berfungsi untuk membuat objek tabel.

·         Property bar

Property bar berada dibawah Standard toolbar, yang berfungsi untuk menampilkan sejumlah perintah dan opsi yang berhubungan dengan tool yang sedang aktif atau digunakan saat itu.

·         Docker

Docker berisi sejumlah opsi yang dapat dipilih dan diisi sesuai kebutuhan yang diinginkan. Untuk  memunculkannyayaitu dengan perintah Window > Docker.
